Office Manager Charged with Embezzling Health Care Patient Co-Payments

PITTSBURGH—A resident of Butler County, Pa., has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of embezzlement in connection with health care, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
The one-count indictment named Jennine M. Prince, 42, as the sole defendant.
According to the indictment, Prince was the office manager of Office Based Anesthesiology Systems Inc. in Cranberry, Pennsylvania from April 2010 through September 2011. During that time she was responsible for making bank deposits of cash received from patients as co-pay payments. Instead of depositing all of those monies, Prince embezzled and stole $64,656.41.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Nelson P. Cohen is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
