Mt. Lebanon Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

PITTSBURGH—A resident of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania pleaded guilty in federal court to child pornography charges, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Andrew Dahmen, 22, of 10 Lebanon Hills Drive, Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography before Senior United States District Judge Gustave Diamond.
In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that, on January 2, 2012, Mt. Lebanon police responded to a pizza restaurant at 713 Washington Road, after the father of a 5 year-old child reported that Dahmen had attempted to produce a cellular telephone image of the child in the bathroom. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of the cellular phone as well as computers and storage media from Dahmen’s residence. Dahmen was found to be in possession of hundreds of images of child pornography, including images depicting prepubescent minors.
Judge Diamond scheduled sentencing for February 6, 2012. The law provides for a total sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense and the criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Pending sentencing, the court remanded Dahmen to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

The Mt. Lebanon Police Department, together with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Dahmen.
