Johnstown Man Sentenced to 20 Months in Prison for Crack Distribution Conspiracy

JOHNSTOWN, PA—A resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania has been sentenced in federal court to 20 months in prison and three years’ supervised release on his conviction of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base, commonly known as “crack,” United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Christopher M. Ferreira, 26.
According to information presented to the court, from March 23 to June 30, 2011, Ferreira and two co-defendants, Robert L. Harrison and Crystal A. McCarthy, conspired to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine base.
Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr. prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cambria County Drug Task Force for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Ferreira.
