Federal Jury Finds Farrell Man Guilty of Cocaine Trafficking

PITTSBURGH—On September 27, 2012, after deliberating for approximately three and one-half hours, a federal jury of six men and six women found Raymond Anthony Napolitan guilty of one count of violating federal narcotic laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Napolitan, 48, of 248 Hamilton Avenue in Farrell, Pennsylvania, 16121, was tried before United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
According to Assistant United States Attorney Eric S. Rosen, who prosecuted the case, the evidence presented at trial established that Napolitan possessed with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
Judge Schwab scheduled sentencing for February 14, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not less than five years and up to life in prison, a fine of $1,250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based on the seriousness of the offense and the criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
The Southwest Mercer County Regional Police Department; the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and Drug Control; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; the Federal Bureau of Investigation; the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office; and the Mercer County Drug Task Force conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Raymond Anthony Napolitan.
