Erie Man Sentenced to Prison for Transporting Cocaine

ERIE, PA—A resident of Erie, Pennsylvania has been sentenced in federal court to 60 months in prison on his conviction of violating federal drug laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Senior United States District Judge Maurice B. Cohill, Jr. imposed the sentence on Ronald Wesley Thomas, 62.
According to information presented to the court, Thomas transported a kilogram of cocaine from Detroit, Michigan to Erie, Pennsylvania in June 2008.
Assistant United States Attorney Marshall J. Piccinini prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the EAGLE Task Force, which is comprised of members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Erie Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Thomas.
