Johnstown Man Charged with Robbing Local Bank

JOHNSTOWN, PA—A resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of bank robbery, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
The one-count indictment named Richard Brandon Johnson, 29.
According to the indictment, on February 2, 2011, Johnson robbed the First Commonwealth Bank at 131 Fleming Ave., Johnstown, Pa., of $1,101.00.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Upper Yoder Township Police Department, and the Richland Township Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
