Pittsburgh Man Sentenced to Five Years in Prison for Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, March 12, 2010, that Joshua Foriska, a resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to 63 months’ (five years, three months) of incarceration, to be followed by five years of supervised release, on his conviction of violating the federal drug laws.

United States District Judge Terrence F. McVerry imposed the sentence on Foriska, age 27.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti, from in or around October 2007, and continuing until in or around September 2008, in the Western District Of Pennsylvania and elsewhere, Foriska conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute more than two kilograms but less than 3.5 kilograms of cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance.

Mr. Cessar commended the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Joshua Foriska. Other agencies participating in the investigation include the Pennsylvania State Police, the District Attorney’s Office Violent Crimes/Firearms Task Force, the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Department, the Allegheny County Police Department, the Allegheny County Adult Probation, the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, the United States Marshals Service, the West Mifflin Police Department, the Coraopolis Police Department, the Jefferson Hills Police Department, the Mount Lebanon Police Department, and the Pennsylvania State Parole.
