Kayenta Man Sentenced to 41 Months in Prison for Robbery

PHOENIX—Stanton Eric Long, 22, of Kayenta, Ariz., was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Frederick J Martone to 41 months in federal prison followed by a nine month placement in an inpatient alcohol rehabilitation program while on three years of supervised release. Long pleaded guilty on January 20,2009 to robbing an elderly person while she was in her home in Kayenta on the Navajo Nation.

The facts showed that the Kayenta Police Department responded very quickly after the robbery and caught Long a short distance from the robbery scene. All of the property was recovered.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Navajo Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution was handled by Roger Dokken, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
