Robbery of Sovereign Bank Branch in Philadelphia

FBI Philadelphia September 16, 2013

The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the robbery today of the Sovereign Bank branch located at 5601 North Broad Street in the Olney section of the city.

At approximately 10:08 a.m., the subject entered the bank and handed a teller a demand note. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled on foot and was last seen heading east on Olney Avenue.

The subject is described as a black male in his mid- to late 50s, approximately 5’6” to 5’8” tall, medium build, medium complexion, with a mustache; he wore a dark-colored bucket hat, dark-colored jacket with a white stripe down the sleeves, blue button-down shirt, dark-colored pants, and white sneakers.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this robbery or this subject is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
