Robbery of Sovereign Bank Branch in Wyndmoor

FBI Philadelphia March 26, 2012

The Springfield Township (Montgomery County) Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the robbery earlier today (Monday, March 26, 2012) at the Sovereign Bank branch located at 800 Willow Grove Avenue, Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania.

At approximately 12:06 p.m., the subject entered the bank and presented a threatening demand note to the teller. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The subject is described as an African-American male in his 20s with a thin build; he was wearing a mask on his lower face, aviator sunglasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and dark gloves.

Two pictures from the bank’s security cameras are below. This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the Springfield Township Police Department at 215-836-1601 or the FBI at 215- 641-8910. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
