Carbondale Man Sentenced for Selling Crack Cocaine

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced today that Senior United States District Court Judge Edwin M. Kosik has sentenced John Cardamone, age 43, of Carbondale, Pennsylvania, to 57 months’ imprisonment for selling cocaine base (crack) to another individual in exchange for $900 on April 8, 2009.
In addition to his sentence of imprisonment, Judge Kosik ordered Cardamone to pay a $1000 fine and to be supervised by a federal probation officer for three years after serving his jail term.
United States Attorney Peter J. Smith noted that parole has been abolished, and the defendant will be required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence, assuming he receives full time off for good behavior while incarcerated.
The case was investigated by special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney John Gurganus prosecuted the case.
