Robbery of the Citizen’s Bank Branch in Willow Grove on Friday

FBI Philadelphia November 14, 2010

The FBI and Abington Township Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject or subjects responsible for the robbery of the Citizen’s Bank branch located at 1919 Easton Road in Willow Grove on Friday, November 12, 2010.

At approximately 11:42 a.m., the subject entered the bank and demanded cash from the tellers, implying that he was armed with a gun. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, which the subject placed into a plastic bag with a pull-string that he had carried into the bank, the subject fled the area of the bank, possibly in a dark blue Kia Sephia sedan bearing Pennsylvania license plate HKD-3226. This vehicle was seen by a responding officer from the Upper Moreland Police Department, possibly with the suspect from the robbery in the passenger seat. The officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the vehicle fled south on Fitwatertown Road into Philadelphia, where it was lost.

The subject is described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male in his early 20’s, thin build, clean shaven, wearing a dark-colored heavy winter coat or sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, a black scarf over his face, and dark gloves. During the robbery, the scarf fell down off of his face.

A picture of the subject from the bank’s security cameras, along with a picture of the same type of vehicle that the subject may have fled in, are below.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Abington Police Department at 267-536-1092 or the FBI at 215-418-4000.
