Philadelphia Man Convicted of Robberies

Anthony Hadaway, 35, of Philadelphia, was convicted yesterday of robbing the Fashion Unlimited clothing store, located at 6127 Woodland Avenue in Philadelphia, on August 1, 2008, and of the armed robbery of the EZ-Cleaners dry cleaning store, located at 701 S. 52nd Street in Philadelphia, on August 6, 2008. Hadaway faces a possible sentence of 30 years in prison with a maximum sentence of life. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for February 22, 2011.

This investigation and prosecution was part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a joint initiative by the United States Attorney’s Office, each of the nine District Attorney’s Offices in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute dangerous firearms offenders in federal court, where the defendants are likely to receive a substantial sentence upon conviction.

This case has been investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas M. Zaleski.
