Center City Serial Bank Robber Strikes Again

FBI Philadelphia January 04, 2010

The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the Center City Serial bank robbery subject, who committed his fourth bank robbery since last week earlier today. Law enforcement authorities are hopeful that someone will recognize the pictures of this robber and contact the FBI or the Philadelphia Police Department, so that this subject can be captured before he robs again.

At approximately 11:49 a.m. today, the subject entered the Susquehanna Bank branch located at 1635 Market Street and verbally threatened a teller, demanding cash. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank on foot. There were no injuries.

This same subject is believed to be responsible for the robberies of the Sovereign Bank at 1500 Market Street last week, on Monday, 12/21/2009, and Wednesday, 12/23/2009, and the robbery of the Beneficial Bank at 16th and Chestnut this past Monday. All of those robberies involved verbal threats and demands. Prior to today’s robbery, at approximately 11:19 a.m., the same subject was photographed by surveillance cameras inside a different bank at 7th and Market Streets; a photograph from that bank is below, along with two photographs from the Susquehanna bank. It is also believed that he was inside of the same Sovereign Bank at 1500 Market that he robbed twice last week before today’s robbery.

The subject is described as a black male in his late 40’s to 50‘s, 5’10 to 6’0 tall, medium build, with a few days of beard growth, and salt and pepper hair. During today’s robbery, the subject was wearing a dark-colored “Roca Wear” coat and a NY Yankee’s baseball cap, and was carrying a large dark-colored shoulder or duffel bag. In the previous robberies, he wore a large camel-colored jacket with a hood, possibly Dickies brand, and a different Roca Wear coat.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to the identification and apprehension of this subject. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
