Philadelphia Resident Charged with Crack Distribution

Khayree Harrison was charged today by an Indictment alleging that on October 12, 2009, he possessed with intent to distribute more than five grams of cocaine base (“crack”), possessed with intent to distribute more than five grams of cocaine base (“crack”) within 1000 feet of a school, and possessed a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy. The indictment alleges that on October 12, 2009, Harrison was in possession of more than 36.9 grams of cocaine base (“crack”) within 1,000 feet of Ferguson Academics Plus School, located at 2000 North 7th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment, a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment, a mandatory minimum eight years’ supervised release up to lifetime supervised release, a $4,250,000 fine, and a $200 special assessment.
The case was investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Arlene Fisk.
