Two Charged with Armed Bank Robberies

PHILADELPHIA—A five-count indictment was returned today charging Shawn K. Johnson and Keenan Danan Quinn with conspiracy to commit armed bank robbery, bank robbery, armed bank robbery, and using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy. The indictment alleges that on August 6, 2009, Johnson robbed the Harleysville National Bank, located at 1498 North Wales Road in North Wales, Pennsylvania, and that on August 27, 2009, Johnson and Quinn used a Storm Ruger, 9mm semi-automatic handgun, to rob the National Penn Bank, located at 304 South Henderson Road in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

If convicted, defendant Johnson faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, seven years mandatory imprisonment to be served consecutively to any other sentence of imprisonment, five years supervised release, a $1,250,000 fine, and a $500 special assessment. Defendant Quinn faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, seven years mandatory imprisonment to be served consecutively to any other sentence of imprisonment, five years supervised release, a $750,000 fine, and a $300 special assessment.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Upper Gwynedd Township Police, Upper Merion Police Department, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David L. Axelrod.
