Philadelphia Resident Charged with Brandishing a Firearm During a Robbery

United States Attorney Michael L. Levy today announced the filing of an Indictment against Donte Evans, charging that Evans robbed the Wawa at 3601 Chestnut Street shortly after 2 a.m. on January 25, 2009, while brandishing a firearm.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment, a mandatory minimum of seven years’ imprisonment, five years of supervised release, up to a $500,000 fine and a $200 special assessment.

The case was investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Nancy Rue.
