Lincoln Men Charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Drugs

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that on July 31, 2012, an indictment was unsealed charging Brandon Terrell Davis, 29, and Lafayette Byron Dorsey, 31, both of Lincoln, with conspiracy to distribute powder cocaine; cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine; and marijuana between January 2007 and May 2012.
The conspiracy charge carries a possible penalty of not less than five years, nor more than 40 years in prison; a fine of up to $5 million; and a term of supervised release following the prison term of not less than four years. Davis and Dorsey could also be ordered to forfeit $2767 in cash.
Davis and Dorsey appeared in federal court in Omaha on August 1, 2012. Davis was ordered held without bond. Dorsey was released on conditions. Trial is scheduled to begin in Lincoln on October 9, 2012.
The matter was investigated by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force, which includes officers of the Lincoln Police Department, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department.
