Omaha Resident Sentenced After Pleading Guilty to Money Laundering

Event Triggering this Release:
Vicki Cass was sentenced today to 24 months’ imprisonment by the Honorable Lyle E. Strom, Sr.
United States District Judge, having previously pled guilty to money laundering charges. After
an extensive investigation by the IRS, FBI, and the Omaha and Bellevue Police Departments,
Ms. Cass was indicted, along with Shannon Williams and others, in 2009 for their involvement
in conspiring to distribute marijuana and money laundering. Ms. Cass pled guilty on July 6,
2010, and as part of that agreement, admitted to laundering in excess of $200,000. Shannon
Williams, Sara Jarrett, and Deshawn Hernandez are still pending trial, which is set to begin April
4, 2011.
