Robbery of RCB Bank Branch in Oklahoma City

James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Oklahoma City Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, announced the robbery of the RCB Bank branch at 11217 N. May Ave. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
At approximately 10:27 a.m. on June 3, an unknown male entered the bank and approached the teller counter wearing a long, fake black beard and handed the teller a demand note. The subject opened his suit jacket to show the teller a black semi-automatic pistol he had tucked in the waistband of his pants. The teller complied, and the subject attempted to leave the bank with an undisclosed amount of money before being confronted by an off duty Oklahoma County Sheriffs Officer. The subject fled through the west exit door without the money and was last seen running northbound from the bank. No one was injured in the robbery.
This subject is believed to have also committed robberies in a similar manner using a similar disguise at the Arvest Bank, 2025 Sonoma Park Dr., Edmond, Oklahoma, 73013; on April 23, 2014 and First Fidelity Bank, 10904 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on May 21, 2014.
Witness descriptions depict the subject as follows:
- Black male
- 5’8”–5’10” tall
- 150-160 pounds
- Thin build
- Long, black fake beard; shoulder-length dreadlocks that were believe to also be fake; a light-colored suit coat and light-colored pants; dark round sunglasses; and a black semi-automatic pistol tucked in the waistband of his pants
This robbery is being investigated by the FBI and the Oklahoma City Police Department. Anyone with information is requested to contact the FBI at (405)290-7770 (24 hour number). Callers may remain anonymous. The Oklahoma Bankers Association offers a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for robbing a member bank.
