Robbery of Bank of the West in Warr Acres

James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Oklahoma City Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, announced the robbery of the Bank of the West branch at 5757 N.W. Expressway in Warr Acres, Oklahoma.

At approximately 10:03 a.m. on June 6, two Hispanic males entered the Bank of the West branch yelling, “Everybody get on the ground.” The first subject to enter the bank was wearing a nylon stocking over his head and face and was carrying a white plastic bag. The second subject was wearing a dark ski mask and fired what is believed to be a blank round from a black revolver he was carrying as he entered the bank.

The first subject instructed the tellers to empty the teller drawers into the plastic bag he was carrying while the second subject ensured the other occupants of the bank remained on the ground. The subjects departed the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured in the robbery.

The subjects were last seen driving west through the bank parking lot toward N.W. Expressway and N. McArthur Blvd. The subject’s vehicle was described as an older model sports utility vehicle, possibly a Ford Explorer with faded blue paint.

Surveillance photos and witness descriptions depict the subject as follows:

Subject 1: Hispanic male, medium build; wearing a nylon stocking over his head and face, a dark long-sleeved shirt with white horizontal stripes, dark baseball-style cap, white gloves, dark pants with a white stripe down the leg; and carrying a white plastic bag.

Subject 2: Hispanic male, medium build; wearing a long-sleeved green shirt with white horizontal stripes, blue jeans, dark ski mask, dark gloves, white sneakers; and a black revolver.
