Tulsa Man Sentenced to 17 Years in Federal Prison on Child Sex Trafficking Charges

TULSA, OK—Tarran Arnel Brinson, 24, of Tulsa, was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Gregory K. Frizzell for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking of children, sex trafficking of children, attempted sex trafficking of children, interstate travel, and transportation in aid of racketeering, coercion and enticement, and obstruction of justice, announced U.S. Attorney Danny C. Williams, Sr. for the Northern District of Oklahoma. A Federal jury convicted Brinson on May 28, 2013, after a six-day trial.
“Child sex trafficking is one of the most heinous crimes. We are diligently working with our law enforcement partners to bring those who exploit minors to justice. We must protect the most vulnerable among us, our children.” said U.S. Attorney Williams.
From October 2012 to December 2012, Brinson conspired, attempted, and did, in fact, recruit, entice, transport, provide, and obtain girls under of 18 years of age knowing the teenage girls would be caused to engage in commercial sex acts. The victims were minors recruited by Brinson via Facebook, a social media site, into his commercial sex business. One victim was a 14-year-old when recruited.
The case was investigated by the Tulsa Police Department Vice Unit, the FBI, and Homeland Security Investigations. The case was prosecuted by U.S. Attorney Danny C. Williams, Sr. and Assistant United States Attorneys R. Trent Shores and Clinton J. Johnson from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma.
