Bank Robbed Who Dressed as Nun Arrested

FBI Oklahoma City December 13, 2013
  • Special Agent Terry B. Weber (405) 290-3614

James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Oklahoma City Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced the arrest of Kyle Robert Richard, 27 years of age, of Yukon, Oklahoma.

Richard was arrested without incident at approximately 10:00 a.m. on December 13, 2013, in Mustang, Oklahoma, by the FBI and members of the Oklahoma City Police Department, Gang Enforcement Unit. Richard is facing federal bank robbery charges for allegedly robbing the Yukon National Bank branch at 235 S. Yukon Parkway in Yukon, Oklahoma, on December 10, 2013. During the robbery, the subject wore an old woman’s mask with what appeared to be a nun’s habit.

The quick identification and arrest of Richards is a result of the investigative efforts of the Yukon Police Department and the FBI. The investigation was aided by a vehicle description and license plate given by a witness at the bank, as well as tips received from the public subsequent to media coverage of the robbery.

A federal complaint officially charging Richard is expected to be filed today in U.S. District Court, Western District of Oklahoma. Richard will be transported to the Grady County Jail where he will be detained until his Initial Appearance in federal court.

The public is reminded this arrest is merely a charge, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
