OKLAHOMA CITY—James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, announced the robbery of the InterBank, 4921 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

At approximately 11:00 this morning, a white male entered the bank and presented a note to the employees demanding money. The robber indicated verbally he had a firearm. The bank employees complied with the robber's demand and he received an unknown amount of U.S. currency. A review of the surveillance video showed the robber arrived at the bank in a taxicab.

Information obtained by law enforcement at the bank determined the robber was seen at a shopping center in the area of N.W. 39th and Penn Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Law enforcement went to the shopping center and found the robber had purchased a motorcycle/scooter. Further investigation revealed the robber wore a T-shirt associated with the city mission. Law enforcement arrived at the city mission and arrested Jeffrey Adam Tyrell, 32 years of age, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The robbery was investigated by the FBI and the Oklahoma City Police Department. Tyrell will appear before a U.S. Magistrate in Oklahoma City on May 13, 2011 for the charge of bank robbery. The public should be reminded that the above is merely an allegation and all persons are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
