MUSKOGEE, OK—Sheldon J. Sperling, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, announced today that DANIEL SCOTT WARD, age 35, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 63 months’ imprisonment, followed by 60 months of supervised release, for possession of one or more matters containing a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252(a)(4)(B).

Charges arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. WARD was indicted in November 2009, and pled guilty in January, 2010.

In June, 2008, the FBI executed a federal search warrant at WARD’s residence. Agents seized WARD’s computer as well as numerous CDs and DVDs. The computer, CDs and DVDs contained images and video files of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

The Honorable Ronald A. White, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, presided over today’s hearing. The defendant remains in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending transportation to the designated federal prison at which he will serve his nonparolable sentence.

Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Wilson represented the United States.
