Former Firelake Grand Casino Accounting Officer Sentenced to 33 Months for Embezzlement
Defendant Ordered to Pay Over $400,000 in Restitution

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—RANDALL DAVID RUSH, 47, of Yukon, Oklahoma, was sentenced today by United States District Judge David L. Russell to serve 33 months in prison for embezzling money from the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, announced John C. Richter, United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.

Rush was employed as an accounting officer at the Firelake Grand Casino, located in Shawnee, Oklahoma, which is owned by the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Irregularities were discovered during an audit of at the Casino. Upon investigation, the embezzlement was discovered to have occurred in multiple transactions in 2006 to 2007. Rush was charged in February of 2009 and pled guilty in March of 2009.

At sentencing, Judge Russell also ordered that Rush pay $405,890.50 in restitution and serve three years of supervised release upon his release from prison.

These charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Susan Cox.
