Drug Distributor Sentenced to 22 Years

NEWPORT NEWS, VA—Ikar Ross, 38, of Newport News, Va., was sentenced yesterday to 264 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.
Neil H. MacBride, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, made the announcement after sentencing by United States District Judge Rebecca Beach Smith. Ross pled guilty on November 24, 2009.
According to court documents, several people testified to Ross’ cocaine dealings over a two-year period. Ross was arrested in Yorktown, Virginia after officers executing an arrest warrant caught him attempting to flee out of a second story window.
This case was investigated by a Federal Bureau of Investigation Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Howard J. Zlotnick and Special Assistant United States Attorney Kristine E. Wolfe prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
