FBI New York June 11, 2010 |
On June 10, 2010, the Long Island Chapter of InfraGard gathered at the Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center for a seminar on health care fraud. FBI Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Gregory Fowler and Special Agent (SA) Maryann Goldman, an InfraGard Coordinator for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, attended the meeting to promote the FBI's InfraGard Program. There were over 50 members and attendees present for the morning’s event, which included presentations by Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) Catherine A. Begley and NYPD Lt. John H. Schroeder, a member of the Health Care Fraud Task Force. Director of Security for the North Shore LIJ Health System James Romagnoli presented an overview on Incident Command Structure and provided a tour of their Emergency Operation Command.
Keynote speaker FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) Richard Frankel commented on the InfraGard program, “We have had multiple success stories due to assistance provided by InfraGard members and have identified many key individuals who are currently providing assistance on criminal and terrorism threats inside and outside the region. The communication from InfraGard members remains a significant resource for the FBI. We thank our InfraGard partners for their continued commitment and dedication to defend both our nation and our communities.”
SAC Fowler added, “The combined outreach efforts of the FBI and Long Island’s private sector are vital in protecting our most valuable infrastructure. We recognize the need for the program’s continued success and are grateful to Long Island InfraGard President Brendan Healy, Director William McGuire, and InfraGard Coordinator SA MaryAnn Goldman for their work with our local InfraGard chapter partners in keeping this important relationship active and ongoing.”
President Healy added, “InfraGard continues to improve the public-private partnerships with the FBI and the Long Island Business Community. We look forward to working with the FBI team on future projects.”
