The Suffolk County Police Department and FBI Arrest Eight Suspected Gang Members in a Long-Term Investigation

FBI New York March 25, 2010

Early this morning, in a coordinated law enforcement operation, the FBI Long Island Gang Task Force and Suffolk County Police Department Special Operations Team arrested eight suspected Latin King gang members in Huntington Station and Deer Park, New York on various federal charges. Two additional subjects are already being held on state charges. All eight subjects were taken into custody without incident and will appear in the Eastern District of New York Federal Court later today.

The task force consisted of the FBI, Suffolk and Nassau Police Departments as well as the Hempstead Village Police, Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State Parole. This investigation was also worked in conjunction with the Suffolk County District Attorney.

The FBI’s Long Island Gang Task Force, which was formed in 2002, investigates gang related crimes and will continue to work with our partners in Suffolk and Nassau counties to reduce gang violence and criminal activity.
