NYO Squad C-23 Agents Jointly Receive the Federal Drug Agents Foundations True American Hero Award

Yesterday, FBI Special Agents Michael G. Zuk, Karma M. Smith, and Peter A. Casson of Squad C-23 jointly received the True American Hero Award at the eigth annual Federal Drug Agents Foundation (FDAF) Award Ceremony in New York.
The team was recognized for their outstanding service and dedication to Operation Diamond Deeds, a long term Title III investigation targeting a gang involved in violent criminal offenses including homicide, robbery, drug trafficking, hijacking, insurance fraud, and police impersonation. In the past four years, the gang has been responsible for the theft and attempted theft of millions of dollars in diamonds and cash.

FBI Special Agent in Charge David Cardona of FBI New York’s Criminal Division attended the ceremony and said, “We are here to honor those agents who used incomparable investigative strategy and notable techniques bringing about 24 arrests and 19 indictments.”
The Federal Drug Agents Foundation was formed 15 years ago by a group of professionals to provide support to the members and families of many law enforcement agencies and is dedicated to providing recognition and support to our nation’s federal agents, task force members.
