Police Week 2009: Unity Tour
National Police Week 2009
Police Unity Tour
Approximately 1,200 law enforcement officers took part in the Police Unity Tour this year as a way to pay tribute to their fellow officers killed in the line of duty.
Unity Tour representatives make an etching of the name of a fallen comrade from the wall at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
Among those waiting for Unity Tour participants to pass by are these British “bobbies”—on hand to show their support for their international partners.
The bicyclists, some who began their ride hundreds of miles away, are greeted enthusiastically by family, friends, and other supporters as they arrive at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
