The FBI's National Intel Share Project Manager Announced Today

In an effort to further strengthen the FBI's information sharing capability, FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III, today announced the appointment of William G. Eubanks as Manager of the FBI's National Intel Share (NIS) Project.
As Manager of the NIS Project, Mr. Eubanks will be charged with evaluating the capability of existing systems used for information sharing such as Law Enforcement On-line (LEO) and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). As Manager, Mr. Eubanks will also be responsible for coordinating and implementing an FBI led Information Sharing Initiative to ensure basic sharing of appropriate information and intelligence between the FBI and other federal, state, and local law enforcement entities. Mr. Eubanks will also provide testimony to Congress and make presentations to law enforcement entities regarding the FBI information sharing initiatives.
Mr. Eubanks entered on duty with the FBI as a support employee in 1973 and became a Special Agent in 1978. Following a first office assignment to the Kansas City Division, he was transferred to the Laboratory Division where he later became Chief of the DNA Analysis Unit. Following the assignment to the Laboratory, he served in the Inspection Division before being transferred to the Dallas Division as a supervisor in the White Collar Crime Program. In 1994, Mr. Eubanks was designated Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Milwaukee Division where he maintained oversight of all investigative programs in a division that encompasses all of Wisconsin. In 1998, Mr. Eubanks was promoted to Associate Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Division where he improved liaison and Task Force participation with the Chicago Police Department and was responsible for all investigative programs, personnel, and administrative matters. Most recently, Mr. Eubanks has served as Special Agent in Charge of the St. Louis Division where he has instituted a successful model information sharing project in Missouri while maintaining responsibility for all investigative and administrative operations in the division.
