Janet Kamerman Named Associate Executive Assistant Director of Human Resources

Today, Director Robert S. Mueller, III appointed Janet L. Kamerman Associate Executive Assistant Director (AEAD) of the Human Resources Branch. In this new role, she will lead the Bureau-wide Leadership Development Initiative to review FBI training, experiential development, and the integration of Human Resources processes and systems for all categories of supervision, management, and leadership.

Ms. Kamerman entered on duty as a special agent with the FBI in July 1989. Upon completion of training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, she was assigned to the Houston Division. In Houston, she worked a variety of investigative matters to include organized crime/drugs, international terrorism, and white collar crime. She was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent in the Houston Division where she supervised a drug squad.

In 2002, Ms. Kamerman transferred to FBI Headquarters as a Supervisory Special Agent and Unit Chief in the Human Resources Division. She was later promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge overseeing administrative matters at the Washington Field Office. In 2005, Ms. Kamerman served as Special Assistant to Director Mueller, where she provided counsel to the Director on a variety of policy and administrative matters. Since May 2007, Ms. Kamerman served as Special Agent in Charge of the Honolulu Division.

Prior to entering the FBI, Ms. Kamerman served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer.
