1. New Orleans: Attorney Pleads Guilty and Forfeits $30 Million

James G. Perdigao pled guilty to 30 federal felony charges including a fraudulent billing scheme and agreed to forfeit $30 million. 

2. Miami: Venezuelan Convicted

Franklin Duran, a Venezuelan national, was convicted on charges of illegally operating as an agent of the Venezuelan government. 

3. Washington Field Office: GSA Contractor Employee Sentenced

Charles Anthony Wehausen and four subcontractors were sentenced for their roles in a kickback scheme which overcharged the U.S. government. 

4. Baltimore: Pakistani Receives Nine Year Sentence

Saifullah Anjum Ranjha was sentenced for concealing terrorist financing through an informal money transfer system known as a “hawala.” 

5. Springfield: Senior Master Sergeant Sentenced

Former Senior Master Sergeant Bruce E. Walker was sentenced for possession of child pornography. 

6. New York: Genovese Family Captain Indicted

Fugitive Michael Coppolo, a captain in the Genovese organized crime family, was charged with racketeering, extortion and murder. 

7. Memphis: Guilty Plea in Mosque Burning

Michael Corey Golden and Jonathan Edward Stone pled guilty for their roles in burning and vandalizing the Islamic Center of Columbia. 

8. Little Rock: Chief of Police Indicted

Former Sheridan Police Chief David Hooks was charged with embezzling city funds. 

9. Seattle: Army Captain Sentenced to Prison

Army Captain Cedar Lanmon was sentenced for accepting illegal gratuities from contractors while deployed in Iraq. 

10. Boston: Former Inmate Charged with Hacking Prison Computer

Former inmate of the Plymouth County Correctional Facility, Francis G. Janosko, was indicted for damage to the prison’s computer network and identity theft.
