  1. Dallas: JetBlue Pilot Charged with Interference with a Flight Crew

    JetBlue pilot Clayton Frederick Osbon was charged with interference with a flight crew after he behaved erratically on a New York-to-Las Vegas flight. Full Story

  2. Headquarters: FBI Releases Bank Crime Statistics for Third Quarter of 2011

    During the third quarter of 2011, there were 1,094 reported violations of the Federal Bank Robbery and Incidental Crimes Statue, a decrease from the 1,325 reported violations in the same quarter of 2010. According to statistics released by the FBI, there were 1,081 robberies, 11 burglaries, two larcenies, and one extortion of a financial institution reported between July 1, 2011 and September 30, 2011.   3. Pittsburgh: Former Upper Big Branch Mine Superintendent Pleads Guilty to Felony Conspiracy

    Gary May pled guilty to conspiracy to impede the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s enforcement efforts at Massey Energy Company’s Upper Big Branch mine during the investigation into a fatal explosion on April 5, 2010 that killed 29 miners. Full Story

  4. San Juan: Former Police Officer Convicted for Role in Providing Security for Drug Transactions

    Arcadio Hernandez-Soto, a former officer with the San Juan Puerto Rico Municipal Police Department, was convicted for his role in providing security for drug transactions; he is one of 89 defendants in the Operation Guard Shack case. Full Story

    Indian citizen Patrick Nayyar, who had been residing illegally in the United States, was found guilty of attempting to provide support to Hizballah, a designated foreign terrorist organization. Full Story

    Christopher Chaney pled guilty to a series of cyber crimes relating to his hacking into the personal e-mail accounts of more than 50 individuals associated with the entertainment industry. Full Story

    Gary Michael Hilton pled guilty to robbing, kidnapping, and murdering elderly couple John and Irene Bryant in October 2007. Full Story

    Mark Gautreau was sentenced to 72 months in prison for the racially motivated shooting of two Hispanic men in August 2006. Full Story

    Four Navy officials and three defense contractors each pled guilty in connection with a wide-ranging, multi-million-dollar fraud and corruption scheme at the Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, California. Full Story

  10. Seattle: Doctor Sentenced for Health Care Fraud, Tax Crimes, and Drug Distribution

    Physician Antoine Johnson was sentenced for more than two dozen federal felonies connected with his operation of four health care clinics, out of which he dispensed prescription drugs to individuals without requiring medical examinations. Full Story
