FBI Director Announces the Appointment of Key Management Posts

FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III, today announced the appointment of the following individuals to key management posts:

Louie F. Allen, Special Agent in Charge of the Newark field office:
Mr. Allen entered on duty with the Bureau in September 1978 and has served in the Mobile, Washington, DC, and Cleveland field offices. While assigned to FBI Headquarters, he was responsible for contingency plans and emergency response for special events such as the 1988 Democratic and Republican National Conventions and the 1989 Presidential Inauguration. Most recently, Mr. Allen has held the position of Special Agent in Charge of the Albany field office.

Steven C. McCraw, Special Agent in Charge of the San Antonio field office: Mr. McCraw entered on duty with the Bureau in February 1983, and has served in the Dallas, Pittsburgh, and Los Angeles field offices. In July 1997, he was promoted to the position of Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Tucson Resident Agency in the Phoenix, Arizona field office and has most recently been the Inspector-Deputy Assistant Director of the Intelligence Branch, Investigative Services Division, at FBI Headquarters. In October 2001, Mr. McCraw was selected by the Attorney General to serve as the director of the Foreign Terrorist Tracking Task Force.

Frederick D. Snellings, Jr., Special Agent in Charge of the New York field office, Criminal Division: Mr. Snellings entered on duty with the Bureau in May 1983 and has served in the Atlanta, Washington, Cleveland and Newark field offices. While in Atlanta he served as the Administrative Assistant Special Agent in Charge and then as the Criminal Assistant Special Agent in Charge. Most recently, Mr. Snellings has served as Acting Special Agent in Charge for the Atlanta field office.

William B. Coggins, Section Chief of the Personnel Assistance Section: Mr. Coggins entered on duty with the Bureau in September 1998 as Chief of the Employee Benefits Unit at FBIHQ. Prior to joining the Bureau, Mr. Coggins developed nearly thirty years of federal human resources experience and held senior management positions for 15 years including Assistant Director of Human Resources for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
