FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III, Announced the Appointment of Key Management Posts

Thomas W. Richardson, Assistant Director, Investigative Technologies Division: Mr. Richardson entered on duty with the Bureau in April, 1975, and has served in the Washington, Chicago, and Omaha field offices. While assigned to FBI Headquarters in 1989, Mr. Richardson served as Chief of the Asset Unit, and then as Chief of one of the Middle East Terrorism Units in the National Security Division. In 1995, Mr. Richardson was designated Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Omaha Division where he served for over three years. In 1998, he was assigned to FBI Headquarters as Chief of the Administrative Section of the Criminal Investigative Division. Most recently, Mr. Richardson has served as Acting Deputy Assistant Director of the Criminal Investigative Division’s Financial Crimes, Integrity in Government/Civil Rights, Operational Support and Administrative Branch.

Thomas V. Fuentes, Special Agent in Charge, Indianapolis Division: Mr. Fuentes entered on duty with the Bureau in 1979 and has served in the Chicago and San Francisco field offices. While in Chicago, Mr. Fuentes supervised a Special Operations Group and organized a Crime Task Force Squad which was comprised of Special Agents, Chicago Police Department Officers and Illinois State Police Detectives. In 1994, Mr. Fuentes was designated as Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the San Francisco field office. Most recently, Mr. Fuentes has served as Chief of the Organized Crime Section, FBI Headquarters, Washington, DC.

John E. Lewis, Special Agent in Charge, Oklahoma City Division: Mr. Lewis entered on duty with the Bureau in 1977 and has served in the Dallas, Newark, New Haven, and San Antonio field offices. While serving at FBI Headquarters in 1989, Mr. Lewis was designated as a Supervisory Special Agent in the Undercover and Sensitive Operations Unit, where he had oversight responsibility for various areas of the FBI’s undercover program. In 1996, Mr. Lewis was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the San Antonio field office where he was responsible for all facets of FBI field operations. Most recently, Mr. Lewis has served as Inspector, Inspection Division.

Thomas E. Bush, III, Special Agent in Charge, Saint Louis Division: Mr. Bush entered on duty with the Bureau in 1975 and has served in the Washington Metropolitan, Jackson, and Atlanta field offices. While serving at FBI Headquarters, Mr. Bush was designated Supervisory Special Agent in the Fugitive Unit of the Violent Crime and Major Offender Section. Upon being transferred to the Jackson Division, Mr. Bush served as a Field Supervisor, where he supervised violent crime, drug and civil rights investigations. He then relocated to the Atlanta Division upon his promotion to Assistant Special Agent in Charge and served in that capacity until July 2000. In July 2000, Mr. Bush was promoted to the position of Section Chief, Programs Development Section, Criminal Justice Information Services Division, Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Thomas C. McClenaghan, Special Agent in Charge, Anchorage Division: Mr. McClenaghan entered on duty with the Bureau in 1984 and has served in the San Antonio, New York, Houston, and Albany field offices. While serving in New York, Mr. McClenaghan worked foreign counterintelligence matters. He led a team of agents and support employees in, a sensitive operation which ultimately led to the receipt of a Director of Central Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation. In April 2000, Mr. McClenaghan was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Division, where, most recently he has been serving as Acting Special Agent in Charge.

Robert E. Casey, Jr., Director, Foreign Terrorist Tracking Task Force, Counterterrorism Division: Mr. Casey entered on duty with the Bureau in 1986 and has served in the Phoenix, Chicago, and Miami field offices. While serving at FBI Headquarters, Mr. Casey was assigned to the Organized Crime/Drug Branch of the Criminal Investigative Division as a Supervisory Special Agent. In 1995, Mr. Casey was transferred to the Chicago Division, where he supervised investigations of drug, money laundering, and street gang crimes. In July 2000, Mr. Casey was designated as Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Miami Division, with executive management responsibility for the Organized Crime and Drug Programs.

Keith L. Lourdeau, Chief, Cyber Crime Section, Cyber Division: Mr. Lourdeau entered on duty with the Bureau in 1986 and has served in the Chicago, Little Rock, and St. Louis field offices. While serving at FBI Headquarters, Mr. Lourdeau was detailed to the CIA to assist in establishing a new initiative between the CIA and the FBI in targeting international organized crime groups. Since February 2001, Mr. Lourdeau has served as Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the St. Louis Division, where he is responsible for the daily operation of the Division both operationally and administratively.

Steven G. Burmeister, Chief, Scientific Analysis Section, Laboratory Division: Mr. Burmeister entered on duty with the Bureau in 1987 as a Special Agent. In 1992, Mr. Burmeister was assigned to the Chemistry Unit at FBI Headquarters as a Forensic Chemist Examiner, where he analyzed evidence and testified in cases involving bombings and explosives. In February 1998, Mr. Burmeister was designated Chief of the Chemistry Unit, Laboratory Division. Most recently, Mr. Burmeister has served as the Chief of the Explosive Unit, Laboratory Division.
