Robert W. Britt Named Special Agent in Charge of the Anchorage Field Office

Director Christopher Wray has named Robert W. Britt as the special agent in charge of the Anchorage Field Office in Alaska. He most recently served as an inspector in the Inspection Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington.

Mr. Britt began his career as an FBI special agent in 2001 and was first assigned to the Austin Resident Agency of the San Antonio Field Office. While in Texas, he worked criminal, counterterrorism, and cyber cases. In 2006, Mr. Britt transferred to the Washington Field Office and served as a member of the U.S. attorney general’s protective operations detail.

In 2008, Mr. Britt was promoted to supervisory special agent in the Firearms Training Unit at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and was named unit chief of the Director’s Research Group at Headquarters in 2010. Mr. Britt was promoted to field supervisor in the Oklahoma City Field Office in 2012, managing five resident agencies in western Oklahoma. He also served as the program coordinator of the civil rights and Indian Country crimes programs and managed the surveillance, aviation, and undercover programs.

Mr. Britt was promoted to assistant inspector and team leader at Headquarters in 2014 and to assistant special agent in charge in the Los Angeles Field Office in 2016. In Los Angeles, he served in the Counterterrorism and Administrative Divisions and managed the counterterrorism, extraterritorial, crisis response, electronic surveillance, and administration programs. He was promoted to inspector in 2018.

Prior to joining the FBI, Mr. Britt served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force as an instructional system designer. He has a master’s degree in human relations and bachelor’s degrees in education and human resource management.
