FBI Director James B. Comey has named Sean Ragan the special agent in charge of the Criminal Division in the Los Angeles Field Office. Mr. Ragan most recently served as the section chief of the Global Operations Section, Criminal Justice Information Services Division.

Mr. Ragan joined the FBI in 1996. He began his career in the San Francisco Division, where he focused primarily on gang, organized crime, and violent crime matters. He also served on the San Francisco Division’s SWAT team and as a front-line supervisor. Throughout his career, Mr. Ragan has held leadership positions in the Criminal Investigative Division, Atlanta Division and the Criminal Justice Information Services Division.

Mr. Ragan will assume this new role in the beginning of March.
