Johnnie Sharp, Jr. Named Special Agent in Charge of the Birmingham Division

FBI Acting Director Andrew McCabe has named Johnnie Sharp, Jr. as the special agent in charge of the Birmingham Division. Mr. Sharp most recently served as chief of the Technical Surveillance Section in the Operational Technology Division of the FBI.

Mr. Sharp entered on duty with the FBI in 1998 and began his career in the Pittsburgh Division, where he investigated counterintelligence and counterterrorism matters and served as a firearms instructor and SWAT Team Sniper.

In addition to the Operational Technology Division, Mr. Sharp has held leadership positions in the Counterterrorism Division, the Jackson Field Office, and as the FBI’s Deputy On-Scene Commander in Iraq in 2009.

Mr. Sharp will assume this new role in early August.
