FBI Announces Executive Appointments

FBI Director James B. Comey has announced the following leadership appointments:

W.L Scott Bean, III Named Assistant Director for Information Technology Infrastructure Division

Mr. Bean most recently served as the special agent in charge of the Administrative Division of the Washington Field Office.

Mr. Bean entered on duty with the FBI in 1997 and was first assigned to the Salt Lake City Division, where he investigated white-collar crime, drug trafficking, and domestic and international terrorism. He served as the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) Coordinator for the division, as well as serving as the JTTF coordinator for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

Throughout his career, Mr. Bean has held leadership positions in the Counterterrorism Division, the Washington Field Office, and the Operational Technology Division.

Mr. Bean will assume this position effective immediately.

Tracey North Named Assistant Director for Information Technology Applications and Data Division

Ms. North most recently served as the deputy assistant director and acting assistant director for the IT Applications and Data Division.

Ms. North entered on duty with the FBI as a special agent in 1986 and was first assigned to the Atlanta Division, where she investigated mainly violent crimes, organized crime, and domestic terrorism, including the 1996 Summer Olympics Bombing and Top Ten fugitive Eric Robert Rudolph investigations. Ms. North was also a member of the Atlanta SWAT team.

Throughout her career, Ms. North has held leadership positions in the Counterterrorism Division, the Albany Division, the Director’s and Deputy Director’s offices, and the Directorate of Intelligence.

Ms. North will assume this position effective immediately.

Jeremy Wiltz Named Assistant Director for Information Technology Customer Relationship and Management Division

Mr. Wiltz most recently served as the deputy assistant director for the Information Services Branch.

Mr. Wiltz joined the FBI in 2007 and has previously served as the deputy assistant director for the IT Services Division and section chief of the IT Project Management Section.

Prior to joining the FBI, Mr. Wiltz served as the chief information officer for the Central Intelligence Agency’s deputy director for community management.

Mr. Wiltz will assume the position effective immediately.
