Mollie Halpern: The Pittsburgh FBI reflects on one of its favorite moments of 2014. Listen why the memory does not involve making an arrest, cracking a case, or finding a fugitive.

PNC Park Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, today is FBI Day.

Halpern: Eight-year-old Caden Cannon was the Pittsburgh FBI’s guest of honor on FBI day at PNC Park—the home of five-time World Series champions the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Caden is a champion in his own right. While attending the Pittsburgh Public School District’s Summer Dreamers Academy, he demonstrated the most spirit, earning him the greatest honor a camper can receive—the Spirit Stick.

He was awarded the most sacred of all camp objects during the camp costume competition in which he dressed up as an FBI agent.

Caden says his dream is to someday earn a badge because…

Caden Cannon: I just like helping people.

PNC Park Announcer: Special Agent in Charge of the Pittsburgh FBI Division Mr. Scott Smith, who is here to present Caden—are you ready for this?—a Junior G-Man badge and an official FBI Zombie Task Force T-shirt. Wow! Ladies and gentlemen, how about a big round of applause for Caden and everybody here today for FBI Day.

Scott Smith: The Pittsburgh Public School System's program fosters and encourages dreams, and we want to support those, especially when those dreams involve getting a career in law enforcement or with the FBI.

Halpern: Caden witnessed the Pirates' first triple play at home in 21 years, but to him, the experience at the ballpark was a home run.

Caden:  Today is my favorite day ever.

Halpern: Why?

Caden: Because I get to be the guest of honor. I can’t wait to get home and tell my mother.

Halpern: The Buccos were victorious with a 7-3 win over the Chicago Cubs. From Pittsburgh, I’m Mollie Halpern of the Bureau with Inside the FBI.
