Cracking Down on Intellectual Property Theft

On October 18, FBI Richmond Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey Mazanec (at podium) and Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division (front left), along with U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Neil MacBride and members of his prosecution team, announced an indictment in a case involving the alleged theft of DuPont’s Kevlar trade secrets by a company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. Of the indictment, Mazanec said, “We will pursue those who prey on the originality and vision of hardworking businesses who conduct their own research, obtain patents, and market a successful product.” See press release at: http://www.fbi.gov/richmond/press-releases/2012/top-executives-at-kolon-industries-indicted-for-stealing-duponts-kevlar-trade-secrets
