FBI Seeks Information to Locate Wanted Fugitive Joe Matthew Constance

The New Orleans Division of the FBI has launched a campaign to locate Joe Matthew Constance, 48, a convicted felon who fled to avoid arrest and prosecution for his role in an alleged murder in Calcasieu Parish. Wanted since 2011, Constance is considered armed and dangerous.

Constance is a six-foot, two-inch tall, white male, with brown hair and brown eyes, who weighs between 190–220 pounds. He has a tattoo on his left arm and a mole on his neck. Constance has been known to use the following names: Joe Constance, Joe M. Constance, Joe Matthew Constance, and Joseph Constance, along with the following dates of birth: February 27, 1967 and July 27, 1967.

Joe Matthew Constance, a convicted felon, is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of his estranged wife in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, on June 5, 2011. It is alleged that Constance forcefully entered his estranged wife’s residence, confronted other occupants of the residence, threatened to shoot two of the occupants, and physically assaulted another one, while demanding to know the location of his estranged wife. When Constance located his estranged wife in another area of her residence, he allegedly shot and killed her and fled the area.

That same day, Constance was charged with first degree murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated burglary by the Fourteenth Judiciary District Court, State of Louisiana, Parish of Calcasieu, and a state warrant was issued for his arrest. A federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana on October 16, 2014, after Constance was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading directly to the arrest and conviction of Joe Matthew Constance. Photos and identifying information are noted on the FBI wanted poster. Individuals who may have information regarding his location may call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324), their local FBI office, or consulate.
