Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Branch on N. Carrollton Robbed

Today, April 8, 2014, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a robbery occurred at the Gulf Coast Bank & Trust branch located at 201 N. Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans.

The suspect entered the location and brandished a black handgun. He approached a teller window demanding money. The subject left the bank with an undetermined amount of U.S. currency.

The suspect is described as black male in his mid-40s, approximately 6’0” tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball cap under the hood, blue jeans, black sneakers, and sunglasses. He was carrying a blue gym-style bag over his left shoulder. He was last seen exiting the back door of the bank, heading north on Iberville Street toward the direction of Lake Pontchartrain.

Anyone who has information is asked to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 504-816-3000 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. The Metropolitan Orleans Bank Security Association (MOBSA) is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of this bank robber. The public can visit bankrobbers.fbi.gov for further information on suspects wanted for bank robbery.
