FBI and NOPD Seeking Public’s Assistance in Identifying Bank Robbers

NEW ORLEANS—David W. Welker, Special Agent in Charge of the New Orleans Division of the FBI, along with NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas, requests the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for the robbery of the ASI Federal Credit Union at 4646 Michoud Boulevard in New Orleans today.

At approximately 12:50 p.m., two black males entered the bank and demanded money, placed it in a yellow plastic Dollar General shopping bag, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. The robbers were seen on foot headed toward Chef Menteur Highway.

Robber 1, whose bank surveillance image is below, was a light-complexioned black male, approximately 6’2” tall, 180-200 pounds, in his late 20s. He wore a dark hooded sweatshirt, a green construction vest, and light-colored work pants.

Robber 2 was a dark-skinned black male, approximately 6’2” tall, 28-32 years old, and had a medium build. He wore a green construction vest with orange stripes, a black face covering, a black sweatshirt, tan work boots, and a dirty white hard hat.

The public is asked to visit the website www.bandittrackerneworleans.com, featuring color photos and descriptions of this bank robber along with others and fugitives throughout the FBI’s New Orleans Division to see if they can assist the FBI in identifying and/or locating the captioned wanted individuals.

Anyone with information about today’s bank robbery is asked to call the FBI at 504-816-3000. The Metropolitan Orleans Bank Security Association (MOBSA) is offering a reward of up to $5,000. for information leading to the arrest and indictment of these bank robbers.
