New Haven Woman Sentenced to 30 Months in Federal Prison for Role in Five Connecticut Bank Robberies

David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Moneek Grant, 34, of New Haven, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Janet Bond Arterton in New Haven to 30 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for her participation in five Connecticut bank robberies in March 2012.
According to court documents and statements made in court, in March 2012, Kevin Bolden, 47, of New Haven, committed bank robberies in New Haven, Woodbridge, Stamford (twice), Greenwich, and Bridgeport, stealing a total of more than $15,000.
With the exception of the New Haven bank robbery, Grant assisted Bolden by preparing the notes that he gave to bank employees during the robberies, and she sat in the getaway vehicle while Bolden committed the robberies.
Grant has been detained since her arrest on April 1, 2012.
On December 4, 2012, Bolden pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery. He awaits sentencing and is also detained.
This case has been investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Haven, Stamford, Woodbridge, Greenwich, and Bridgeport Police Departments. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Douglas P. Morabito.
