FBI Seeks Public’s Assistance in Identifying Serial Bank Robber

NEWARK—The FBI’s Newark Division is searching for a bank robber who has robbed five banks in New Jersey since September 2012. In each of the robberies, the individual approached the teller, presented a demand note, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. In most instances, the robber claimed he was carrying a gun. On three occasions, he wore either a grey or black hooded sweatshirt. The robber has worn a hat during every robbery, to include a New York Yankees baseball cap, a black baseball cap with a red letter “P,” and a grey skull cap. In all robberies, the subject is described as follows:
- Race: Hispanic
- Gender: Male
- Height: 5’8” tall (approximately)
- Weight: 170 pounds (approximately)
- Build: Medium to Large

Thursday, September, 27, 2012—At approximately 10:32 a.m., the Valley National Bank located at 748 Mt. Prospect Ave, Newark, New Jersey, was robbed. The subject wore a red New York Yankees cap, white T-shirt underneath a dark long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers, and he was clean shaven.
Wednesday, October 31, 2012—At approximately 12:08 p.m., there was an attempted robbery at the Sovereign Bank located at 466 Bloomfield Ave, Newark, New Jersey. The subject wore a black hooded jacket, camouflage pants, and a grey skull cap.
Tuesday, November 6, 2012—At approximately 12:47, p.m. the Valley National Bank located at 22 Bloomfield Ave, Belleville, New Jersey, was robbed. The subject wore a grey hooded sweatshirt with front pocket, dark pants, a grey skull cap, and sneakers.
Saturday, December 8, 2012—At approximately 12:17 p.m., the Valley National Bank located at 128 Market St., Passaic, New Jersey, was robbed. The subject wore a black jacket with white shirt underneath, sunglasses, and a black baseball hat with a red letter “P.”
Saturday, February 23, 2013—At approximately 11:41 a.m., the Valley National Bank located at 22 Bloomfield Ave, Belleville, New Jersey, was robbed. The subject wore a dark hooded zip-up sweatshirt, blue jeans, black sneakers with white soles, and a red New York Yankees baseball hat.
