Law Enforcement Hunting Pattern Bank Robber

NEWARK—The FBI, in conjunction with the Lakewood and Howell Police Departments, as well as the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, is looking for a pattern bank robber who struck at least three times since the middle of September.

On September 15, 2010, the Sovereign Bank, located at 555 Madison Avenue (Route 9 North) in Lakewood, New Jersey was robbed by a lone white male, 6’tall, in his mid 20s to early 30s, with a muscular build and light colored, close cropped hair. In a bank robbery note he gave to a teller, he threatened bank employees that he had many guns. No weapons were actually displayed. The subject got away with an undisclosed amount of money. The robber wore a blue NY Giants ball cap with a light green bandana covering his hair, a short sleeved camouflage shirt, tan cargo shorts, white sneakers, and carried a camouflage backpack.

Lakewood, New Jersey Bank Robbery Suspect (11/10/10)

On September 20, 2010, a lone white male with a similar description to the subject of the September 15 robbery detailed above attempted to rob The Bank, located at 205 East Kennedy Boulevard in Lakewood, but was unsuccessful. He aborted the attempt and  fled the bank in an unknown direction. The robber wore a blue ball cap with a red, white, and blue American flag insignia and a camouflage jacket.

On September 27, 2010, the Wachovia Bank located at 3001 Route 9 North in Howell, New Jersey was robbed by a man fitting the same description and modus operandi outlined above: a lone white male who used a bank robbery note which threatened the use of a gun. No weapon was actually displayed. The man wore a blond wig covered by a red bandanna. The man fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. However, the bank employees recognized the man as having been in the bank wearing the same wig and bandanna the week prior to this robbery. (No photo available.)

The bank robber is described as follows:

Race: White
Gender: Male
Age: Late 20s to 30s
Height: 5’10” to 6’2”
Weight: Stocky muscular build, muscular forearms and calves
Hair: Close cut, maybe shaven
Distinguishing Features: Cleft chin, pointed nose bent slightly to the left, clean-cut appearance.

The FBI offers rewards for information leading to the capture and successful conviction of  bank robbers. The subject should be considered armed and dangerous; citizens should not attempt to apprehend this or any other felon.
