Bronx Bomber Fan is Also a Bold Bank Robber

FBI Newark November 12, 2009
  • Special Agent Michael Whitaker (973) 792-3020

NEWARK, NJ—In a brazen bank robbery today that occurred at the TD Bank located at 341 Essex Street, Hackensack, New Jersey at approximately 12:19 p.m., the robber walked into the bank, calmly handed the teller a note demanding money, and walked out with an envelope containing an undisclosed amount of money. Apparently, he did not notice or care about the bank surveillance cameras, which captured unusually clear images of him (below).

The robber is described as a white male, late 20s to early 30’s, unshaven, wearing a blue New York Yankees baseball hat, a dark pullover sweatshirt with an image on the front, and baggy jeans. He was seen getting into a silver SUV with New Jersey tags.

The Hackensack Police Department, Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI responded.

Anyone with information on the Hackensack Robbery is encouraged to contact the FBI at 973-792-3000. The FBI offers rewards for information leading to convictions of bank robbers and other fugitives. Citizens should never attempt to apprehend any fugitive themselves.
